Typeface Design - Godsent

I gave myself a one day design challenge. The challenge was to create a typeface
for a musician, I chose to design a type for Ethel Cain. First, I drew inspiration
from her already present visuals. Based on her aesthetic style, I looked into
Gothic type, Brutalist and fonts from the Industrial Revolution. I opted for a
heavier weight with slab serif influence and Gothic decorative elements.
Because Cain’s music has heavy religious themes, I designed the uppercase T
to resemble a cross.
